We are Tanuki – an exciting 160-seat modern Japanese restaurant and bar located in the heart of Double Bay. As part of the respected family behind venues like Matteo, Osborn House, Kittyhawk, Lobo, and The Island, Tanuki brings contemporary izakaya dining to life with premium sushi, seasonal small plates, and an innovative drinks program.

Our space includes a 6-seater sushi counter, a vibrant open kitchen, and a dynamic bar team delivering curated sake, natural wines, and crafted cocktails. We’re open Wednesday to Sunday, including lunch service Friday to Sunday.

You’ll be essential in crafting the Tanuki guest experience—from warm welcomes to seamless table service and sharing our exceptional food and drinks.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 2 years experience in the role you are applying for.

• Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sake is a plus—but not a deal breaker!

• Experience in fast-paced, dynamic venues.

• A team player with strong communication skills and professional presentation.

• Valid RSA and full Australian working rights are essential.
